Have you ever drove all the way home only to remember there was something you needed from a store you drove right past? Sure you have! We've all done it. Whether it's forgetting to stop and order a birthday cake when you were just two blocks from the bakery, or picking up the dry cleaning on the way home, sometimes things just fall through the cracks.

With Locationizer on your iPhone, there's no need to backtrack or make extra trips to run errands you forgot. This app reminds you of the things you need to do when you need it the mostwhile you're still near the location.

Locationizer features include:

* Uses push notifications to give location based reminders

* Simple user Interface

* Runs in the background while conserving battery life

* Automatic continuous updates when iPhone is plugged into charger

* "Master" on/off switch

* Ability to turn each reminder on or off

* Ability to turn continuous updates on or off

* Enter distances in miles or kilometers

* See all reminders on a convenient list

* Search for an address

* Add location from contact's address

* Add location by dropping a circle on the map

* "Snooze" a reminder

* Runs in the background or foreground

When you need to remember an errand, just scroll through your contacts to find a location, or enter the location and the app will find it with Google's lookup service. Adding the reminder is as easy as dropping a circle over the location on the map and entering a distance radius. The next time you're in that area, Locationizer will remind you where you need to go and what the errand is that you need to complete.

If you want to know what errands you may be forgetting before you leave home, Locationizer lets you view all the reminders you have set in one list. From here you can also edit your reminders, or turn individual reminders on or off. This feature is perfect for those locations you want to keep and use again and again.

Locationizer features the use of iOS 4’s low-power mode to poll for your location using your cell phone signal ("Power Save Mode"). If you absolutely can't afford to miss a reminder, you can easily turn power save mode off. This may drain your battery a little faster, but you’ll never miss even a single update as you go about your day. Plugging your iPhone into the charger automatically disables power save mode and enables your GPS so you can be 100% sure you'll receive every reminder while keeping your battery topped off.

Locationizer is great for more than errand reminders. If your daily commute takes you through radar trap zones or past radar triggered cameras, just mark these areas in the app and you'll always remember to check your speed before it's too late.

By letting you know what you need to do while you're still in the right location to do it, Locationizer helps you become more efficient. Download it now and start saving time, money, and gas; and stop making second trips.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. For the best user experience, we recommend leaving "Power Save Mode" ON and plugging your iPhone into your car charger.

Continually the best "Geo" based alarm program in iTunes!!

:
If you're having any trouble with this app., be sure to see my "If you're having problems please read this:" section below, because this is just plain the best, low cost, low power consumption Geo alert app. available! Thanks for the automatic power save disable when plugged in Matt! Once again, a helpful and much appreciated feature!

"If you're having problems please read this:"
In order to get alerts sooner than every 30 minutes or when you change cell towers, you either need to have your iPhone plugged in and charging or turn the switch in the settings for "Power Save Mode" to "Off". Also, you won't get alerts if the app. is running in the background unless you have set the "Run in Background" switch to "On" in the settings. Finally, being alerted via GPS is only as good as your GPS signal. If you're in a place with a lot of tall buildings or other things obstructing your GPS signal, how could a Geo alert go off if it can't get your current location via the GPS signal?

I have tested a TON of these apps and this is the only one that either actually worked, worked properly, didn't require an iPhone 4, didn't cost too much, didn't drain the battery too much, and/or actually worked when running in the background (yeah, I had a few criteria)!

Not a very usefull product

:
I've used Locationizer with power saver mode TURNED OFF and it worked great but when power saver mode was TURNED ON, I didn't receive any alerts. The reason is because the alerts I setup are all within the same cell phone tower (under 5 miles). Since I didn't switch towers, my location wasn't updated which is a definite problem.

For short distances (under 5 miles) you would need to leave power saver mode off which enables the phones GPS receiver, unfortunately the GPS receiver drains too much battery power so this is not an option. Relying on cell tower changes may work if you are driving long enough distances, although I tried driving long distances with power saver on and it still didn’t work. If you want local alerts you would need to keep your phone in a charger and turn off power saver mode.

A nice feature would be to have Locationizer monitor network connections so when I move from my home WIFI Locationizer would activate my GPS and check my location, then it should check my location periodically to see if I’m still moving. If I am still moving the program should continue to check my location periodically (not constantly), if I’m not moving it should go into power saver mode and wait for a WIFI or cell tower change.
